DONNA KARAN FW2011
DONNA KARAN FW2011
After co-designing Anne Klein for ten years, Donna Karan launched her eponymous collection in 1985. Based on a foundation of "Seven Easy Pieces," Karan's first collection included practical mix-and-match separates that accentuated a woman's curves. Her name became synonymous with the New York look as she created a modern system of dressing that goes from day to evening, week day to weekend and season to season. In 1989 she launched DKNY, offering fast fashion with an urban mindset. Her company now includes fine accessories, intimate apparel, eyewear, menswear, children's apparel, beauty and homegoods. The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) named her Womenswear Designer of the Year 1990 and 1996 and Menswear Designer of the Year 1992 and. She was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the CFDA in 2004.
